Sneak Preview!

One perk I get as an elementary school teacher is that I get three days off for Thanksgiving break!  Three peaceful days to relax, to eat amazing food, to visit with my mom (who is also a teacher and also has three extra days off!), oh, and of course, plenty of time to experiment with new (for us, at least) cake pop designs!  We have a big order coming up in two weeks, so we decided to use our extra free time to try this out first:

Since it was just a trial run, we took some shortcuts, like (a) using regular brown chocolate for the eyes and the whiskers instead of black, and (b) using candy melt for the bow.  We saw some really cute pictures online that used red heart sprinkles and mini red M&Ms for the bow, so we might go that route instead next time.  (We also found out the hard way that candy melt bows are really fragile and will break easily when packaging the cake pops!)

Well, I must return to some really important work now... like using the remainder of my weekend to watch my favorite Christmas movie, Elf. :)  Until next time!
